Oracle Asia Pacific Reports Significant Customer Momentum in Q1FY07

Oracle Asia Pacific & Japan outpaces competition with 126% growth in applications new license revenues; 12% growth in database and middleware new license revenues Oracle announced significant customer traction across its database, middleware and applications businesses in the Asia Pacific region during the first quarter of its fiscal year 2007.
“In Q1FY07, we delivered significant revenue growth across virtually all product lines and geographies,” said Oracle President Charles Phillips.

Oracle expanded into 15 more growth cities in China and India during Q1FY07, bringing its total footprint to 45 growth cities within those two countries. Choice and industry-rich functionality drive success for Oracle Applications
Applications new license revenues for Oracle Asia Pacific & Japan grew 126% year-on-year in Q1FY07. Oracle continues to win market share across the enterprise applications software market in Asia Pacific with significant traction in high-growth industries including banking and public sectors. Customers are responding positively to Oracle’s strategy to provide the most comprehensive portfolio of open standards based end-to-end industry applications. Momentum builds for Oracle Fusion Middleware in Asia Pacific
Oracle’s global middleware new license revenues grew 56% year-on-year in Q1FY07. Built for the heterogeneous enterprise, Oracle Fusion Middleware extends the company’s leadership position in service-oriented architecture (SOA), and consists of modular component software that runs on a range of popular platforms. Interoperability and a modular approach enables organizations to extend the value of existing middleware technologies and business applications from other software vendors such as IBM, Microsoft, and SAP. Many organizations in Asia Pacific across a wide range of industries adopted or expanded implementations of Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and Oracle Applications, including the Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise, Siebel CRM, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and JD Edwards World. In the first quarter of fiscal 2007, new customer wins in Asia Pacific included: Financial Services: Cathay United Bank (Hong Kong), China Construction Bank (China), China Investment Bank (China), China Trust Financial Holding Co. Ltd. (China), Fubon Financial (Taiwan), Grand Cathay Securities Corporation (Hong Kong), Guangxi RCCB (China), Hana Bank (Korea), Industrial Bank of Korea (Korea), Korea Exchange Bank (Korea), Nomura International (Hong Kong) Limited, Shenzhen City Union Bank (China), Woori Financial Information System (Korea).
