The consolidated net income of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) for the third quarter increased to P2.3 billion, 11% ahead of the previous year on higher revenues of 8%. Operating expenses on the other hand were up by 20% but were partly neutralized by a P502 million decline in after tax impairment losses.

MIIF has announced its 2006 3rd Quarter Financial Results, which reported an increase in its Net Asset Value from $0.99 at 30 June 2006 to $1.02 per share, an increase of 3.00 cents per share. The increase was driven by strong operating results and a profitable asset realisation by the Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund (“MEIF”), in which MIIF has a 6.3% interest.
As stated on 7 August 2006, MIIF’s dividend guidance for the half year ending 31 December 2006 is 4.00 cents per share.
