PRESIDENT CLINTON TO VISIT TSUNAMI REGION FOR LAST TIME AS UN SPECIAL ENVOY

From 1-2 December, former U.S. President Bill Clinton  will make his final visit to the tsunami affected region as the UN
Secretary-General’s  Special  Envoy for Tsunami Recovery. President Clinton will  visit  locations  in  Tamil  Nadu (India), Phuket (Thailand) and Aceh (Indonesia),  three of the many areas along the Indian Ocean coastline that were  affected by the December 26, 2004 tsunami that took the lives of over 200,000  people.  He is expected to complete his two-year tenure as Special Envoy at year’s end.

Thai exchange lists treasury bills worth THB 54 billion

Thailand’s Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) will list 12 issues of treasury bills worth THB 54.00 billion (approx. USD 1.47 billion), from the Ministry of Finance during December 1 – 25: 1.      Treasury bills to commence trading on December 1 worth THB 14.00 billion
TB50/10/28D, worth THB 4.00 billion, will use “TB07103C” as its trading symbol.

Moody’s assigns Aaa to Bauhinia MBS Limited’s Series 2006-1 notes

HK$2 Billion of Mortgage-Backed Securities Rated.
Moody’s Investors Service has assigned Aaa ratings to Series 2006-1’s Class A and Class B notes (the “notes”) issued by Bauhinia MBS Limited (the “issuer”). The notes are backed by a static pool of residential mortgage loans originated by the Hong Kong Housing Authority (”HA”) and sold to the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation (”HKMC”) during 2001 to 2003.

All BEA Internet-based services may be accessed safely and securely through the Bank’s homepage at It has come to the attention of BEA’s management that there is at least one possible case of fraud associated with the website overseas.
