HKMA examines controls over customer data protection

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has recently completed a round of on-site examinations of selected authorized institutions (AIs) on their controls over customer data protection. In general, all AIs examined have strengthened their security controls after completing the data security self-assessment requested by the HKMA in 2005.

BT Radianz signs Taiwan Stock Exchange to global network

BT has announced that the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TSEC) has signed an agreement to distribute its market data globally.    BT will utilize BT Radianz’s shared market infrastructure to support the distribution of the Exchange’s real-time data.

Citigroup wins cash mandates in China

Citigroup announced cash management mandate wins in China at the 4 th annual EuroFinance Conference on Cash, Treasury and Risk Management in China, which was held on November 8-9 in Shanghai.
This year’s conference, sponsored by Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking, was the last industry wide event before Chin a’s WTO full liberalization process commences on December 11, 2006.

Moody’s extends upward rating review for Korea Exchange Bank

Moody’s Investors Service has extended its review for possible upgrade of Korea Exchange Bank’s (KEB) long-term credit ratings. At the same time, the rating agency has also placed the bank’s D bank financial strength rating (BFSR) on review for possible upgrade.

Thailand join hands with Japan to establish “Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology” to be the epicenter of advanced industry and investment staff training hub

The Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan), together with Thai and Japanese public and private industry organizations, have launched the “Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology” to produce specialized personnel to support the expansion of Thailand’s industry and investment sectors, which are growing at 7.6 %.
The first semester, starting in 2007, will award 120 scholarships to celebrate the 120th Anniversary of Thailand-Japan Relations.
