Thai exchange lists central bank bonds worth THB 25 billion in December

An issue of bonds worth THB 25 billion (approx. USD 683.06 million) from the Bank of Thailand (BOT) is to be listed on Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) and will commence trading on December 28, 2006, according to The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). BOT49/14/13D, worth THB 25 billion, will use “CB07110A” as its trading symbol.

The issue is comprised of 25 million units, with a par value of THB 1,000 each. CB07110A has a 13-day maturity, falling due on January 10, 2007. These issues will lift the value of BEX-listed government bonds to THB 2.77 trillion (approx. USD 75.68 billion), and the total listed bonds to THB 3.12 trillion (approx. USD 85.25 billion). Currently, BOT bonds listed on the Exchange are worth THB 859 billion, accounting for approximately 27.53% of BEX’s total market value.
