Distress Among Speculative-Grade Bonds Reaches 26-Year Low, Article Says

Distress in the U.S. speculative-grade bond market fell to a 26-year low of 1.6% in December, according to an article published today by Standard & Poor’s. The article, which is titled “U.S. Distressed Debt Monitor,” says that the distress ratio has been continuing its recent fall since reaching a 2006 high of 5.7% in February.

Thai exchange lists central bank bonds worth THB 25 billion in December

An issue of bonds worth THB 25 billion (approx. USD 683.06 million) from the Bank of Thailand (BOT) is to be listed on Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) and will commence trading on December 28, 2006, according to The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). BOT49/14/13D, worth THB 25 billion, will use “CB07110A” as its trading symbol.

Thai bourse finds director remuneration is performance-based

Compensation of Thai listed firm’s directors rose 8 – 11% a year and in line with operational performance, Corporate Governance (CG) Center of The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) revealed. This CG Center summary of remuneration paid to directors and management by Thai public companies will be useful for listed firms to use as a reference in determining remuneration in a transparent manner vis-?-vis their industry.

M.L. Chandchutha Chandratat, Managing Director of Thoresen Thai Agencies Plc (“TTA”), said that the Board of Directors approved an annual dividend payment of Baht 1.35 per share for the 2006 financial year. As the Board of Directors had declared an interim dividend of Baht 0.65 per share, the balance of Baht 0.70 per share will be paid to shareholders, whose names appear on TTA’s share register book on 5 Febraury 2007 at 12.00 P.M.
