S&P assigns ‘A’ rating to Hang Seng Bank (China); outlook stable
Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services said that it had assigned its ‘A’ long-term and ‘A-1′ short-term counterparty credit ratings to Hang Seng Bank (China) Limited (Hang Seng China). The outlook is stable.
The ratings primarily reflect the bank’s status as a core subsidiary of its parent, Hang Seng Bank Limited (Hang Seng; AA/Positive/A-1+), and the HSBC Holdings PLC (HSBC; AA-/Positive/A- 1+) group.

Deutsche Bank appoints director, global credit trading for private equity
Deutsche Bank today announced it has appointed Andrew Yeo as Director, Global Credit Trading – Private Equity, effective immediately. Mr Yeo will be based in Singapore and report to Sajid Javid, Head of Global Credit Trading Asia.
Mr Yeo joins Deutsche Bank from Temasek Holdings, where he was a Director responsible for sourcing, leading and executing private equity investments in the technology, media and telecommunications sectors, globally.

TRIS Rating Upgrades Company and B/E Ratings of “SCBL” to “A+” from “A-” and Upgrades SCBL’s Debenture Ratings to “AA” from “A-”
TRIS Rating Co., Ltd. has upgraded the company rating of Siam Commercial Leasing PCL (SCBL, formerly known as Siam Panich Leasing PLC (SPL)) and the rating of SCBL’s bills of exchange (B/E) to “A+” from “A-”. At the same time, TRIS Rating has upgraded the ratings of SCBL’s existing debentures to “AA” from “A-” as a consequence of the guarantee received from its parent, Siam Commercial Bank PCL (SCB). The rating outlook is “stable”.
SCBL’s guaranteed debenture ratings reflect credit profile of SCB, the 96.83% shareholder of SCBL and the guarantor for SCBL’s debentures. SCB’s credit rating is supported by its strong market position as the third largest commercial banks in Thailand with a strong operating branch network nationwide, its improving financial and business performance, its sound and experienced management team, and its strong cushion of capital fund and allowance for loan loss against bad debts.

TRUE DEBENTURES ON SALE FROM MAY 30 TO JUNE 6, 2007
True Corporation Plc is to issue up to Bt 4 billion of secured debentures to institutional and retail investors. Proceeds of the debentures will be used to repay existing debt ahead of the maturity date. This includes a Baht 3.6 billion bond (1/2545) due to mature in July 2008 and Baht 400 million of Thai commercial bank debt.
