Fitch Affirms BankThai’s Support Rating At ‘4′
Fitch Ratings has today affirmed BankThai Public Company Limited’s (BT) Support rating at ‘4′.
While the central bank’s Financial Institutions Development Fund (FIDF) still holds a 33% stake in BT, this state ownership is likely to be further reduced in the medium term.

Thai bourse aligns its fund disclosure requirements with those of SEC
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will modify its disclosure requirements for mutual funds to correspond with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)’s criteria, reducing the funds’ expenses while still ensuring adequate information disclosure to investors.
Currently, the requirements for information disclosure by listed mutual funds are similar to those of listed companies.

Fitch Thailand Assigns ‘A+(tha)’ to SCC’s New Debentures
Fitch Ratings (Thailand) Limited has today assigned a National Long-term rating of ‘A+(tha)’ with a Stable Outlook to Siam Cement Public Company Limited’s (SCC) upcoming senior unsecured and unsubordinated debentures No.2/2007, amounting up to THB10 billion, due 2011.

Moody’s says Asia Pacific defaulters remain scarce
Moody’s Investors Service says — in a new report — that there has not been a default by a Moody’s-rated issuer in the Asia-Pacific region since 2003.
The report, entitled Default and Recovery Rates of Asia-Pacific Corporate Bond and Loan Issuers, Excluding Japan, 1990 -1H2007, examines the historical credit experience of Asian-Pacific issuers.
