KTC announces performance as of end of 2007: net profit of 521 Million Baht and total revenue of 10,701 Million Baht or 19% and 32% growth over the earlier year respectively, as well as total member base of over 1.94 million accounts primarily due to the growth of credit card and cash revolve portfolios.

Shinsei and DBJ to launch private equity fund
Shinsei Bank, Limited (Shinsei Bank), and the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) has announced the establishment of the Raffia II L. P. private equity fund. The fund will invest in medium-sized companies in the form of buyouts or by providing growth capital and business revitalization, and will be managed by a subsidiary of Raffia Capital Inc.

HSBC ties up with Woolworths for credit card alliance
One of Australia’s leading retailers, Woolworths Limited, has tied up with one of the world’s largest banks, HSBC, to issue credit cards in 2008. This alliance takes advantage of one of HSBC’s most successful global technology deployments to date, its One HSBC – Cards platform, together with its world-class card processing service.
Woolworths Limited and HSBC Bank Australia Limited have signed an exclusive Heads of Agreement for the issuance of a Woolworths general purpose credit card in Australia.

Hang Seng announces senior management promotions
Hang Seng Bank has announced the promotion of Mr Andrew Fung Hau-chung to General Manager and Head of Investment and Insurance, and Mr Joseph Cho Tak-chi to Deputy General Manager and Head of Branch Network and Direct Banking.
Mr Fung joined Hang Seng in 2006 as Deputy General Manager and Head of Investment and Insurance.

Moody’s rates senior subordinated debt of Mizuho Corporate
Total Amount of Debt Rated is Yen 50 Billion
Moody’s Investors Service has assigned Aa3 rating to Yen denominated dated senior subordinated debt issued by Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd. This takedown is issued under the bank’s Japan domestic shelf registration program.

Fitch affirms Indonesia-based BII’s IDR of ‘BB’
Fitch Ratings has affirmed PT Bank Internasional Indonesia Tbk’s (BII) Long term foreign currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at ‘BB’, following Fullerton Financial Holdings’ (FFH) announcement of its intentions to pursue the sale of its interest in BII.

Mizuho goes live with Broadridge’s CCASS Adapter
Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. has announced that Mizuho Securities Asia Ltd. (Mizuho), has commenced live operations on the Broadridge CCASS (Central Clearing and Settlement System) Adapter in Hong Kong. Mizuho is using Broadridge’s adapter to support the settlement of its domestic equities business in Hong Kong.
The CCASS Adapter provides a two-way interface between any back office securities processing system and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited’s Central Clearing and Settlement System.
