Fitch Thailand Affirms AEON Thana Sinsap’s Ratings
Fitch Ratings (Thailand) has today affirmed AEON Thana Sinsap (Thailand) Public Company Limited’s (AEONTS) National Long-term rating at ‘BBB+(tha)’ and its National Short-term rating at ‘F2(tha)’. The Outlook is Stable.

Fitch Removes PTTAR from Rating Watch Negative; Downgrades Ratings
Fitch Ratings (Thailand) Limited has today removed PTT Aromatics and Refining Public Company Limited’s (PTTAR) ratings from Rating Watch Negative (RWN), following the bondholders’ approval for a bond covenant change. Simultaneously, due to the deterioration in PTTAR’s credit profile, Fitch has downgraded PTTAR’s National Long-term rating to ‘A-(tha)’ (A minus (tha)) from ‘A(tha)’, National Short-term rating to ‘F2(tha)’ from ‘F1(tha)’, and the National Long-term rating on its secured and amortising debentures to ‘A(tha)’ from ‘A+(tha)’. Global Rising Star Potential Remains Limited At 14 Issuers, Article Says
Globally, rising star potential remains unchanged at 14 issuers, constituting US$16.71 (€12.66) billion in rated debt, according to an article published today by Standard & Poor’s, titled “Global Potential Rising Stars (Premium).”

TFEX to launch gold futures on February 2
Thailand Futures Exchange PCL (TFEX) is now entering the final phase before launching its new product, gold futures. It is now selecting market makers, to increase market liquidity. Futures Industry Club (FI Club), not TFEX, is the body determining commission rates, while selling agents are expected to provide futures services to general customers in March.
TFEX Managing Director Kesara Manchusree disclosed that “Testing of trading, clearing and settlement systems has already been completed with the clearing house and TFEX members. (more…)
